Haiku – Sleeping Bay

grey sea mist rising
slowly off the sleeping bay;
pocket of sunlight

a pink rose quivers
in the blustery west wind;
coffee almost brewed

reeds rustle clouds break apart;
music from somewhere

walk down avenue
tree sparrows guide me part way;
grey town bathes in sun

measure out the coffee beans;
morning ritual

flower cutting from garden;
forgot it's name now

soft shuffling scuffing echoes;
down the dank lane way

luminous red neon signs;
blazing through the rain

church bells are tolling
sounding out above rooftops;
check my watch again
