Black Cat – Haiku

on coastal pathway
black cat hides between the rocks
after storm venture

a windswept graveyard
 pleading statues look out, up
 guarding narrow path

sunny winter's day
cold Atlantic waves roll in
mystical silence

Rowan's red berries
dance to the wicked west wind's tune
sweeping rain unfurls

the rain's overture
taps lightly on the awning
sat in solitude

the morning dew fades
drops linger in the shadows
rising sun's slow climb

early morning dew
softens earth in flower tubs
a magpie's breakfast
