Weather – Haiku

the robin comes out
from under the big hedgerow ;
checking the weather

after the rainfall
hedgerow full of melodies;
cars splashing walkers

endless and endless
just downpour upon downpour;
cat sleeps in corner

between the grey clouds
hairline crack of blue appears;
gone in a second

kids make sandcastles
adults in sandals with socks
Sunday at the beach

head under the car
white paws extended in sunshine
neighbour's sleepy cat

escaped bronze greyhound
galloping through the village
looks for finishing line

amidst rustling leaves
a blackbird sings his sweet song
balmy evening

scraggy dull grey clouds
wind has blown the sun away
catch raindrops in palm

balmy southern breeze
caressing each blade of grass
leaves come tumbling down

balmy breeze rustles
through the trees and garden hedges
blackbird's swaying shade

the brisk balmy breeze
races across the swelling sea
shadow dancing leafs

after the sea storm
splashing around in puddles
girl in pink wellies

showers and sunshine
alternate with north west wind
sunscreen and raincoats

low tide goes out,out
sunlight shimmers on rock pool
dalmatian trots by

it’s almost nightfall
twilight just slipping away
hedgerows in silence

evening rainfall
brushes flowers from shrubs and trees
birds return to nests

purple flowers bloom
amidst thistles and brambles
Alsatian cocks leg

as I walk the lane
brown butterfly casts shadow
the sun travels west

crusty bread in beak
magpie flies to hedgerow
dining all alone

fox prowls the garden
sniffs round, slinks into hedgerow
put cheese back in fridge
