Panhandler -Haiku

April rain falling
panhandler at traffic lights;
cost of living bites

soft Atlantic wind
waves tumbling fading away;
amble along shore

last night's rain remains;
oily reflections linger
in shallow puddles

out on the grey bay;
red fishing trawler putters
home,after long night

waiting for coffee
the daffodils catch my eye;
terracotta pots

light dusting of snow
disappears with coastal breeze;
back under duvet

breaking the silence
growling motorcycle starts;
my shattered daydreams

the bare trees stand still
amidst listless winter sky;
dusk's amber flicker

remembrance bench
one person sits all alone;
fading memories

back of the bread bin
forgotten focaccia ;
magpies,crows,wagtails . . .
