plankton swirling round
beneath the pellucid sea
soft breeze turns the page
graffiti of love
adorning the old wooden door
afternoon amble
tide is fully out
seagulls wade through pier’s gunk
petrol and seaweed

In these continued strange times and to do my little bit by giving back. I have put my new haiku collection ” Catch the Silence ” up on wattpad, where it is free for everyone to read.
Here is the link https://www.wattpad.com/857418999-catch-the-silence-haiku
distant seagull’s shriek
catches the silent moment
traffic roars again

down the narrow path
along the rocky coast walk
Northern Bedstraw blooms
rotting boat on rocks
prayers of returning safe
long time forgotten

an empty car park
leaves gather in sunken space
cracked iron cast grate
walkers on the road
avoiding jogger’s droplets
social distancing
after the rainfall
flowers droop from their brown pots
footprints of a cat
outside garden wall
purple tulips are blooming
wish that I could paint

In these days of isolation and social distancing and to give a little bit back. I have made Haiku Moments free on Amazon for the next 5 days https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07L6FFP9S/
Feel free to share this link
Many thanks and stay safe

Last Wednesday I had a meeting at a large company. Pulling in, it was difficult to find a parking space. After a couple of laps, one appeared. Preparing to get out, I noticed a monument opposite, with people sitting on a bench. When the meeting was over, went and had a look at the monument.
withered hedgerow frames
the remembrance monument
memories engraved
beside monument
naming passed over workers
people eat their lunch

the rain falls slowly
traffic moving at snail’s pace
roadworks and rainbows
city’s eastern edge
awash with sunshine rainfall
it’s spring’s first rainbow
before the storm hits
yellow daffodil hearts bloom
drive to funeral

the drab grey mizzle
descends upon unseen bay
two crows chatter on
a thick pea-souper
can’t see pathway to shoreline
carry in firewood
hidden midday sun
attempts to burn morning mist
tranquil bay asleep

Thank you for reading.
P.S. I would like to wish you peace and happiness over the coming holiday season.
