Forty Eight – Haiku

drizzle been falling

almost forty eight hours now;

strikhedonia

wild westerly wind

racing raging up the bay;

rose petals scatter

down long avenue

bursts of red amongst hedging;

escallonia

the tree branch shadow

dances across notepaper;

gold pen nib poised

jigsaw puzzle clouds

dot the afternoon skyline;

seems one is missing !

lone magpie saunters
along the patio wall;
green tea leaves steeping

by the sunny bench

cat and I cast our shadows;

touching just briefly

tourist cars whizz past

eyes shut standing up asleep;

white pony in field

diagonal rain
gusting in off Atlantic;
sideways umbrellas

April rain falling
panhandler at traffic lights;
cost of living bites
