Haiku – Puddle

last night's rain remains;
oily reflections linger
in shallow puddles

light dusting of snow
disappears with coastal breeze;
back under duvet

the bare trees stand still
amidst listless winter sky;
dusk's amber flicker

black cat's bell tinkling
as she scents garden's border;
robin well hidden

outside it's raining;
fly wanders around inside
car's interior

down at the seashore
ocean falls through my fingers ;
seaweed clings to rocks

the robin comes out
from under the big hedgerow ;
checking the weather

after the rainfall
hedgerow full of melodies;
cars splashing walkers

endless and endless
just downpour upon downpour;
cat sleeps in corner

between the grey clouds
hairline crack of blue appears;
gone in a second

head under the car
white paws extended in sunshine
neighbour's sleepy cat

escaped bronze greyhound
galloping through the village
looks for finishing line

amidst rustling leaves
a blackbird sings his sweet song
balmy evening
